Meet Allan
Allan lives in the ward and takes an active part supporting ‘Warm Hub’ community groups and tackling residents’ queries and concerns.
Uplands has a long history of Welsh Liberal Democrat representation; many have sat as cabinet members on the council. Allan and Sandra have a strong record of resolving community issues including fly tipping, cleaning our streets and potholes. They liaise regularly with local Police and PCSO’s on a regular basis and work closely with local businesses. In addition, they have played an active part in the development of the Victoria Skate Park and the Victoria Men’s Shed. Both were elected as councillors for the Uplands Ward in 2022.

Sandra has contributed greatly towards community recreation and well-being, parks, housing, liaison with Students, and volunteer sporting groups.

Pipers Way in SA1 has been closed for an excessive period. The Welsh Government are responsible for these footpaths. Sam remains in dialogue with the Welsh Government team responsible for SA1 about getting the path made safe and re-opened.
With a local resident, Cllr Bennett met with Council Officers about the latest information on the parks planned for Langdon road.
Smoke from Bonfires and BBQs on the beach are becoming a nuisance for residents of the sea front.
As the the summer approaches, Sam has been approached by a number of residents concerned with noise pollution from loud excessive noise from bars and pubs in the area.
Alongside Welsh Lib Dem Leader Jane Dodds, and fellow Welsh Lib Dem Fire Authority Member Cllr Glyn Preston, Cllr Sam Bennett met with the Chief Fire Officer.
